school begins

Here we are second week into the school year.  While last week totally kicked my butt i think we are settling into a good routine.  my biggest accomplishment of the year?  making lunches at night.  i've never been able to do that in the past, not sure why, probably just too unorganized or something, but this year it has made my morning SO MUCH SMOOTHER!!  like duh, right?   here are pics from the past two weeks.

All school reports have been great. Penny describes her teacher like this:  she smiles when she talks!  Thats a pretty great kindergarten teacher quality.

Owen is LOVING being in middle school.  he was dying to be more organized so we went and got a different type of binder.  it's like a puffy, laptop case type trapper keeper. haha!  but his least favorite is english even though he loves his teacher.  he's already written 2 essays.

Sophie is awesome.  she needs to get her licence though!  we are shooting for end of sept. hopefully we can buy her a car by then...... ugh.........

simon and summer play constantly.  they both start preschool next week but it's been fun just having the little ones around.  yesterday simon asked me, "mom, do you know what is inside of everything?? ZOMBIES!"

I have been cramming breaking bad episodes into my nights.  did i already blog about this?  i decided to watch all 5 seasons in the next 5 weeks so i can watch the series finale with the rest of the world.  ITS SO AWESOME.  i love me a tv binge, but you guys already know that.

we have been listening to old school R.E.M.  it started with "I am Superman" for simon and just grew into the greatest hits. fun stuff.

Simons brick.  It's built into a wall in one of the yards on the way to school.  Summer got all upset that simon had a brick and she didn't so i told her that her name is on the signs at target and simons name in on a brick.  we all have our name on different things.
