bum

Yesterday at church, penny gave a talk in primary and simon gave the opening prayer.  He, like all children, LOVES using the mic.  One of the ladies was helping him and she'd say, "we're thankful for primary," and he'd say...WHAT?? Then, of course, all the sunbeams would laugh.  Then she'd say it again and he'd say, HUH???  Lots of giggles.  Finally, he began repeating what she was saying.  Then he got to the end and she said, "in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen" and he said, "in the name of jesus Christ, BUM!!!!  And everyone was laughing and saying bum i think he felt like a million bucks.  totally got the laugh.  was he planning it ahead of time? was it a last minute punch line?? hahaha.. is he going to be a stinkin' class clown? crap, i hope not.

anyway, we had a little chat about prayer last night.  who knows if he was listening. 

Also, yesterday in primary Owen was presented with his very own CAKE!  anyone who memorizes all 13 articles of faith gets their very own cake to eat all by themselves. they don't even have to share if they don't want to.  He loved it.  vanilla with green frosting. He eventually shared because it was a really big cake. 

Penny memorized number 1 with her teacher yesterday in class and then owen taught her the second one so she can pass it off next week.  Doug's sister, LORI, taught all 4 of her under 7 boys all 13 articles of faith so Penny and Simon could totally do it, right??

Sophie gets home from EFY today and it sounds like it has been the most fabulous trip of her life.  LOTS of spirituality, lots of fun kids and lots of independence.  She was telling me on the phone her plans for tonight and then stopped herself and said, "I mean, can i go to dinner with Kiana and her family? I forgot I have to ask."  hahaha.  she's used to just deciding things and then doing it. 

So happy the trip was such a success but, boy, how I MISSED that girl!!  Is that how you punctutate that sentence? it looks like way too many commas.

Anyone have any advice for a mama with a little girl obsessed with kissing on the lips?  She loves to kiss simon on the lips and it looks a little weird.  

I would definitely classify her as a lover AND a fighter.

He looks like casual sunday at church without a tie. haha
