going backward

So before jessica and cj came we had adam and my parents come into town and stay over night then they took my kids down to meet adams family at the beach. sophie and i came after her summer school and then at the end of the week adam and mequell and family came up here and stayed over with us after their beach camping extravaganza.

My dad took the kids to "THE EMPORIUM" which is code for the 99 cents store where they buy a host of assorted crappy toys and yummy candy.  it's a favorite tradition with grandpa

We all saw monsters university together.  simon fell asleep and penny was like fist pumping and yelling YESSS! super out loud during the competition at the end.  It was hilarious.

We also went down to Olvera Street on the Metro.  it was a 5 hour round trip experience.  Doug drove down there and met us for taquitos and, like a superhero, drove the little kids home with him so i wouldn't have to wrangle them on the subway. holy cow they are such spazzy kids!  WHO IS RAISING THESE JUNGLE ANIMALS?!?!

Penny found this string of seaweed/kelp whatever and made it into about 10 different things.  here, a headband, then a skirt, then a purse then a necklace, etc. etc.  she woke up the next morning and was SO SAD we didn't bring home the "leafy skirt" she found to wear with one of her glittery shirts. hahaha

right after we got on the subway we sat down and the doors closed and the train took off.  Within minutes, simon was bouncing up and down holding his pants screaming he NEEDS TO GO PEE!!!  so we all got of at the next stop, looked around for a bathroom and discovered wed have to go out and back down and start all over again.  SOOOOOO, we took him down to the end of the platform, i picked him up, pulled down his pants and told him to aim for the trash can!  One two little hispanic ladies saw our crime and i was really happy simon was the only one that needed to go.
