Afterparty Roundup

Here is the slew. Feel free to jump to the photos. Just have to document for when we forget the details as this is not likely to happen again for us soon. (at least until doug is nominated, right?? haha)

It goes something like this -- on Sunday Doug was dropped off at the Reniassance hotel with all the camera gear thinking he was going to be shooting the behind the scenes for the day. rehearsal, show and everything in between. Well, after about 5 hours of waiting it was decided that the behind the scenes stuff would be cancelled for that day. So, he called me to come pick him up. I left church early and made my way into hollywood to see if i could get close enough to him so that he could walk to me. All of the surrounding streets were blocked off, photogs camped on the roofs of buildings, limos all over highland were maneuvering in and out of the Hollywood bowl parking lot. That WHOLE lot was nothing but black limos. so interesting. it was their holding spot. so i get down there and he actually ended up in james' hotel room downloading footage. It turned out the process was going to take a while so i went back home to put penny down and get simon some food.

Anyway, Doug ended up staying the afternoon and the rest of the night editing and tweeting all the photos and videos james would send from the show to him and his assistant Dana. did you notice when he walked out he was videoing on his iphone?? He sent that and about 40 others back up to the room so the two of them could post on his twitter site. There are some good ones. backstage and onstage and all throughout the show. the two of them worked like crazy posting OSCAR REAL TIME tweets.

Also, once everybody took off for the show, doug was STARVING so he ordered about 100 worth of room service to get them through the evening. Apparently, wings and chocolate cake are really expensive but he said it was SO good. This is how he ordered.

"I'll have 2 diet cokes. and the lady said, they're 5 bucks a piece is that ok? I'll have 3 diet cokes."

Anyway, while i was at lyndsay's Doug called to see if i could come down early and hang out with them at the hotel. whaaaaat? so i jammed home, tried to get ready as FAST as i could to get the before the end of the show and made it just as the show ended. Oh, and i got to take the volvo since he had been dropped off that morning due to crazy parking restrictions. so i parked, they sent a shuttle for me, almost fell flat on my face getting out of the this huge SUV. the driver caught me. so i went up and hung out until it was time to walk over to the party. You could see the governors ball from the room. Vince actually had a ticket he wasn't going to use that he said we could have to get into the governors ball. i totally should have done it while everyone was getting ready. that would have been a total celeb fest!

Candy BAR! Remember my last candy bar experience? well, it wasn't much different this time. i ended up bringing a bag home for the kids and let the babies go at it on monday while i was desperately trying to make some phone calls. wowowowow! should not have done that. haha. penny was certifiable!
