Well, tonight is Sophie's Winter Formal. She has been nominated for Junior Princess and she asked her good friend Tyler to the dance. I love me a Sadie Hawkins because the guys get a chance to sweat it out. We are also getting her registered to take the SAT and ACT. ughhhhh. I thought teaching sophie to drive was the most daunting thing we had ever done. but actually..... college is way worse. it's around the corner and making sure she's taking the right classes and registered for the right tests and do we pay for test prep classes?? does she even have time for test prep classes?? they're so expensive, just like my entire life right now. it's like a money jugular and it's been sliced right open. But its her future?! and so on and so on.

Owen finally got better. he was sick for a super long time, it seemed. come home from school with pink eye and then it sorta morphed into the coldy thing that everybody had. but then he finally got better. we also found him a new place for tennis!!! the other one was 15 minutes away on the other side of the city and it was such a SCHLEPP and expensive actually. So we stopped before Christmas and then the other night i was just googling junior tennis and found the toluca lake tennis club. it's right behind WB and like 3 minutes a ways and less than half the price?! HALF???? what on earth??? and they have an actual team and it all seems to be working out fine in the tennis dept. although, i have learned in life that once you announce that something is perfect it somehow all goes awry. i will just say that I am happy to find a new place for Owen to play tennis. He also got into the scholarship club at school and was super excited about that.
| Me wearing Owens' beat up old converse from summer. He passed me up, shoe size wise. height not quite but soon. |
| Owen bought this a friends yard sale. it supposed to fit a 5 year old but he's wearing the robe like a cozy lounge jacket. SWEET! |
Sure penny! something like that yes.
She also does these things we call the Penny Monologues. She gets really serious when she's sad or upset or like if she's trying to make simon feel better or if she's feeling really lovey she starts mimicking how adults sound. She loves to talk like this and sometimes its like a performance. she's not making sense a lot of the time she just wants to get the tone across. On our road trip this christmas she would video herself talking about anything. Almost like a talk at church of something. anyway, this is the best example from that trip of a Penny Monologue.

And simon got to go to a special screening of The Lego Movie with is friends yesterday on the WB lot. one of his friends dad's is head of production and their older kids didn't have school so they arranged this for the big kids and invited a few preschool friends for their littlest son. Oh my goodness what an event. We walked across the whole studio to find the screening room and watched it in 3-D which i normally hate but this one wasn't too bad! it all depends on the glasses right?
anyway when it was all done we turned the corner and there was a whole party set up with pizza and soda and drinks and gifts for all the kids with a mini poster and mini lego man and a candy bar all tied up with ribbons. it was so great! Sidenote: i have never had more delicious brownies in my life. they were think and fudgey and very very delicious. I totally need one right now.
