weekenders

hello, friends.

i have good news.  i didn't have to do the commercial after all. hooray!!! my friend, Courtney (an actual actor) was available and happy to help out.  I heart Courtney so much!

Simon and Owen were both still in it and aside from dragging their entire wardrobes to the set only to find that the crazy wardrobe lady who said she didn't have any money for wardrobe had lots and lots and lots of wardrobe there for all actors.  She was snippy on the phone and she was snippy on set.  I didn't like her very much.

Her poor daughter was on set with her and as we were getting lunch, we heard the wardrobe lady say to her daughter..."Easy on the pasta, girl."   Whaaaaaatt???  how rude and embarrassing.  I knew she was a troll.

Other than that it went fine.  Owen was awesome and simon complied fairly well, too!

Simon made friends with this guy Mike.  they sat and ate seaweed together. simon tried the wasabi seaweed while my back was turned and it was "too picy!"  So mike gave him some regular and they munched at the table.

Hey LOOK! It's the evil Wardrobe lady in the tight white tank and tight white jeans.
(Although i did love the jcrew blazer she was wearing earlier.)
and LOOK at all the clothes she brought!

Penny spent the day with Marghi while we were on set. They went to 2 parties and apparently had a discussion about the nutritional value of mcdonalds that ended with penny saying that mcdonalds might not be good for marghi but it is good for penny. I'll bet Marghi hasn't ever had mcdonalds.  ever.  hahaha.

Sophie was auditioning 10 different acts for pop show ALL DAY LONG so she didn't go out to set at all.  next time for sure. :)

After the shoot, i took the kids to the trunk or treat party at the church.  lots of fun, lots of candy, lots of packing bags with multiple sets of clothes on saturday.  As we were heading out the door to the church, simon refused to put on ANY clothes at all (not even underwear) so he rode buck naked in his car seat to the trunk or treat. it was a crazy day.

Then we had the primary program on Sunday.  It was penny's first and she was so awesome.  sang all the words, said her part and was the all around MVP of the sunbeams. if there is such a thing. hahaha.   Owen's was assigned the 13th Article of Faith.  He memorized it in a day thanks to some kind of video game playing time incentive and he also did really, really well.

After the program, we ran home and packed up to go to vegas. we threw the kids in the car and headed out.  my sister and brother were meeting us there because my dad has been called to serve in the Las Vegas Temple presidency.  it's a pretty special thing, actually.  we drove straight to the chapel on sunday night where they were introducing the new presidency at the fireside.  We were 30 minutes late, changed into church clothes in the parking lot and ran inside 5 minutes before my mom and dad got up to speak.  PHEW!!!

I can't believe i don't have any photos from the trip.  when doug is around i leave the photos to him but what that means is they never make it to the bloggggg.

Anyway, i'll have to hassle him for them.

Then we left monday afternoon, less than 24 hours after we left.  It was great to see my family. it reminds me how much i like them.  :)

Have a great Halloween, everyone!!

  1. Adam's parents just got called to be in the Redlands temple presidency too. Or his mom is the Matron assistant. I don't know all the lingo, but their commitment is amazing and intense. Awesome to serve. YAY!
