Yes!! Today was the first day of school for the little dude. At our preschool that means i go with him for the next 10 days to slowly allow him to separate into being a preschooler with the safety of mom or dad leaving in small increments until he is ready. Most people think this is a crazy process, but i actually like it a lot. I love seeing him in school and working with other kids and learning to let the teachers help him instead of me. My job is to sit on the side with the rest of the parents and do my "work" which is reading a really boring book. (to simon anyway.) One mom was looking for a book cover so she could read 50 Shades of Grey, haha.
So Simon was the first to cry. I remember Penny was the first in her class as well. It's all good. they like to see the emotion because then they can work on helping them deal with sad emotions. That's where all the letter writing comes in. Penny sends home lots of letters from school and they totally work.
Anyway, all is well and we can go back tomorrow and work on being a big preschooler some more.
Penny is in the triangle room and a total pro. she loved her first day. The Pack-it is a total hit with her. I ended up buying the divided ziploc trays for the kids and i love them! good tip from my sister, Kelly. Nothing mixes with each other, everything is compartmentalized and there is only ONE LID! No more baggies or tupperwares. big hit. They are like bargain bento boxes! Too cool.
| This is what Simon did while everyone else was singing or reading books or whatever. He did love outside time, however. They painted the big car in the yard with shaving cream. |
