• Simon is potty trained. day and night, friends.  it's kind of a miracle.  hallelujah!
• Penny really wanted some disney dolls at target.  i told her they were probably too many dollars (35, in fact) to buy that day.  she was very, very sad so i told her she could earn money to buy the dolls.  she was very motivated so we wrote down, like, 7 jobs that she needed to do in her room.  pick up toys, put away clothes, make bed, clean under bed, clear desk, etc, etc.  basically just cleaning her room.  i planned on adding more to the list but then she got distracted and then sunday came and went but monday morning as soon as her eyes popped open, i could hear her rummaging around in her room. she yelled to me that she was cleaning and asked if i would come start crossing off the list.  after about 30 min she was done.  TOTALLY DONE and it was a pretty good job, too.  So, dispite the fact it's like i paid her more than a dollar a minute, we went on over to Target and bought the dolls.  remind me to adjust the pay scale the next time she wants to earn money. 
• Doug was asked to do a q&a at the toronto film festival with Canon.  they want to fly him there, put him up in a hotel and have him answer questions about using canon c300 on 'departure date' which is showing in the shorts festival there. not bad, right? not bad at all. 
• I am still waiting around for september 13, first day of preschool
• Simon's 3rd birthday is on Friday.  What the what??
• Celebrated Beth's 35th birthday last weekend by getting pedicures, eating delicious appetizers and desserts (the best way we know how) and by chillin' in Amber's hot tub.  It was AWESOME.
