While We Were Here

Doug went to Tribeca film festival this weekend.  And, apparently, it went well. he's on his way back from the airport right now.  Maybe he'll have pics?  who knows.

The movie was well received and is getting mixed reviews, which is fine. most people like it.   regardless of their review, though, they all comment on the how beautiful it is. More than one describes the photography as "luminous."  That's what i like to hear! Gimme some more of that.

 It got  B+ from Indiewire, not bad.  Review here

Jamie Blackley is the best thing coming out of this movie, hands down. He and doug hung out a lot in italy and Doug just loves him. 

Anyway, he got the lead in the sequel to 300. (hello!)  I love this interview with Jamie from the weekend.  super cutie.

This was a good find too.  A New York writer happened upon 'while we were here' at the festival. I don't know who she is or what she's written, but I loved reading her reaction to it.

"I want to watch that film again, now.  It was all mixed up with joy and pain – a lovely, lovely film in the truest sense of that adjective."
