Cafe 101 is one of those places that you just have to hit if you live in LA, although it's much crappier than it sounds. I thought it would be a little swanky or something but it seriously should be named Mels Diner as you fully expect Alice, Flo or Vera to come out and take your order. it's old school. But it's also, for whatever reason, a hot spot so when you walk in everyone turns their heads to see if your famous. It's HILARIOUS.
anyway, we always end up there way late at night after a late movie at the arclight. i should probably go there in the day sometime, just to see what it's like to eat a waffle brownie sundae when im not all full and bloated and sick from eating popcorn, red vines and diet coke at the movies.

But then we tackle a waffle brownie sundae and it still tastes amazing.
So, Today's recipe is really simple and conjured up in our own kitchen.
Cafe 101's Waffle Brownie Sundae.
Step 1: Mix up a batch of these: (the best in our opinion)
2. Cook it in this:
3. Top with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (Fresh and easy is our fave) and whatever else you'd like. whipped cream, chocolate sauce, a cherry? Make it your own.
so good and so fun and by far the fastest way to make Doug's favorite Brownies.
Voila!
p.s. it takes longer than a waffle to cook and it gets a sticky so you have to use a little finesse when pulling it out. haha. finesse. awesome word.

And then yesterday, i put on the Backyardigans (or as Penny calls it, the Outsideigans) while i made dinner. This is what i saw a few mintues later. It's as good a place as any to watch TV, i guess. (why does he look like his right arm is a stump??)

ReplyDeleteLove this recipe idea! I'm totally on it for our sunday dessert. Looks so tasty. Although from the picture I sent you, you can see I don't really need a Sunday dessert.
