well, we survived the weekend. yesterday morning was hilarious, though. we were just waiting around for 1 pm church to start, it was fast sunday so nobody was eating which made everybody cranky, then we started getting photos from some friends who had a chance to go to a mansion in la jolla this weekend. oh my gosh! it's not even a mansion, it's like a castle right on the coast with a full staff waiting on them. owen's friend was jumping off this huge fountain into a gorgeous pool below. and then doug sent photos of italy which, of course, are gorgeous! and we were all DYING feeling sorry for ourselves. if the kids werent so funny about it all it would have been depressing, but was it actually hilarious!! everybody was grabbing my phone trying to see the lasted photo or video. owen said, "it's so not fair! they get to swim today?" then sophie replied, "their not just swimming, they're jumping into a pool of Gold!" hahaha.
then we made it through church and come home and made dinner. while we were eating dinner our friend adam who lives about 30 sec away now stopped by to return dougs car keys and when he came in we were all around the kitchen nook, the entire house a total disaster, simon had colored all over on the walls (thank goodness for mr. clean sponges) and penny is crying like crazy! she had been playing with the salt and pepper and the pepper got in her mouth and her eye which actually does hurt really bad. so we were trying to give her milk for her tongue, boo boo bear for her eye, nothing was working so we went into my room and watched a show on my bed with her penny blanket. that can fix anything in the world. so she watched wonder pets and i crashed and slept for 30 min maybe?? i really needed it. hahaha.
anyway, we are excited for today. parade in the AM, BBQ at 4 and then fireworks later on.

Just come to my house and sit in the 100 and billion degree weather. Being in CA might not look so bad. Those pics are ridiculously beautiful. Hope you post more before he "floats home on a rainbow" in 3 weeks. hahahaha.
