what is going down?

Only a whole bunch of stuff, actually. and i haven't blogged any of it yet.

Since mother's day.

• sophie had her birthday!! 14, holy crow. Will get her very own b-day post next. plus, her choir news, end of the year 8th grade awards dinners, competitions galore! its been busy for ms. soph.
• Owen started skateboarding class with baylen. he is trying to figure out how to build a ramp.
• penny is loving school. role playing being simon's mom until he just can't stand it any more. when i pick her up at the gate at school, they run to each other with open arms and then stand there hugging for like 3 mintues. all the moms and dads are wow-ing and asking for parenting tips! hahaha. oh, if they only knew the gong show that is our house right now.
• simon's new phrase: I had it first! usually while running down the hallway, some disputed treasure in hand and penny hot on his tail.
• doug went back to NY for what was supposed to be 3 days max. ended up 5. The night before he came home i had a mini-meltdown from the crazy/busy/endless/single mom life i have been living for the past year and a half. So, after searching for hotels in Laguna and Santa Barbara (just needed to spend ONE night by myself) i decided that ultimatly i kinda didn't want to stay in anything but the four seasons. hahaha. i only wanted total luxury and just couldn't justify the expense if i wasn't bringing Doug along.
• so i looked up flights to calgary. my go-to mom only destination. burtonsnorth lives there!
• turns out i have a massive pile of AMEX points that i never redeem and so i booked a flight that cost me 60 bucks round trip and left the next day. via minneapolis which was lame but ok considering i am all alone on this one.
• i'll have a full report when i get back, but for now, i'm going to go sleep in until my eyes pop open...on their own!
