Did you see this?

Saw it on Cjane last night. Very interesting!

Salon.com's Emily Matchar blogs about her addiction to Mormon Mommy Blogs and the response is explosive. Read here.

Also, trying to book doug a flight up to sundance this friday night and what do you know? every single direct flight on southwest is sold out. for the entire day! it's only WEDNESDAY!

it's a mass exodus. i thought that was funny. and a teeny bit ironic.

Lastly, simon pulled a full length mirror down on himself last night. it hit him in the head but didnt shatter, it also didn't crush him because the play table was there and stopped it. I am still reeling. And so grateful he is ok. He has had a rough week. Sometimes i feel like it really is a miracle any of us make it.

therefore, today is my thankful day. In the grand scheme, the little stuff doesn't matter. not even a little bit.

  1. I had read the article via another blog. very interesting. but i kinda hate all those 'my life is perfect and look how awesome my parties and pictures are' cause they make me feel like crap, so of course someone without kids would love it...nothing to compare. but the comments were CRAZY. didn't realize there were so many people who still have mormons, and so many ignorant people at that. could only look at a few.

yes it is a wonder we make it. just remember my baylie, and you gave me sound advice when you said maybe that one just needs some extra watching. she had a tramatic 1 to 2 year that i'm still scarred from.

    sorry for the long comment.

  4. That is SO funny. Paul JUST sent me the link to that article. I didn't read the comments though. I hate reading comments on just about every article online. Too many opinions and most of them are negative.

  5. Oh man, I have so many thoughts about this article. It is kind of awesome and kind of ridiculous. Stereotypes on all sides. The author herself is kind of strange. But I like that in the end she points out the positive. Thankfully none of the blogs of my Mormon friends are all "butterflies and roses" or whatever... And actually I only read the first 5 or so comments but they were pretty darn hilarious. I guess I didn't get to the hater comments but that's ok with me.

  6. I actually liked the article overall even though I didn't agree with everything. I also have gotten a kick out of Seriously So Blessed AND the crafty blogs. The comments? Some were wacky (seeming to suggest that they are fake blogs) and some were just misinformed. I also cringe when people attack the author and name-call because it's mean and seems to justify the haters. I didn't read all of the comments either - too many and I figured more of the same.
