I keep getting emails saying, 'Where are you guys?'
Well, we are here and just trying to keep up with life. Quite the feat. Although, i'm typing this in a very clean house (first time in a long time), in a tidy bed with newly cleaned sheets. I swear there's nothing better than clean sheets.
Top Ten for the past few weeks
10. I've been to the movies 2 friday's in a row. When in Rome/The Blind Side. Next Friday, for the YW babysitting fundraiser, will make it 3 in a row. I'm making up for lost time! {if anyone wants to come along, i'll be seeing Valentine's Day}
9. Whoever invented Pay-pal is a genius. I could kill him/her. Did a wee bit of online shopping while doug was gone. Retail therapy??
8. Doug is home. {sigh}
7. Having Doug's mom here while he was gone was absolutely AMAZING. Next time you're at my house, please admire the curtains. Every single one is hemmed, thanks to Grandma Chamberlain. We kept her busy cooking and cleaning (and playing!) for 5 days straight. She's a bone a fide saint.
6. Penny is in Maggy Haves 2x's a week now. It's a toddler class for kids and parents. GREAT school, horrible time. We'll go tues/thurs from 1:30-3;30 FOR THE NEXT YEAR. That is a major scheduling nightmare! Complete care for a baby plus afterschool pick up for 2 kids at 2 different schools happens at that exact same time. holy cow. You probably won't believe me when i tell you that the school is worth it, especially after you read #5, but it is.
5. I've vowed not to get intimidated by all the prada moms at maggy's. Because it's just NOT about that. But i giggled/cried to myself on Thursday as i noted that even the GRANDMA to a little classmate has really impeccable, cool, interesting style. way better than me/mine? how do i say that? She was wearing the most amazing boots!
Don't worry, most of this stems from an intense yearning for my pre-baby (and i think that really means Pre-Penny) body. Maybe i'll retry an attempt of the no sugar splurge with Brooke this week.
4. Owen loves Calvin and Hobbes and had his first drum lesson on the drums we got from Aunt Lori. It's pretty wicked. The first thing we did was run to Guitar Center and buy the practice pads that dampen 95% of the drum noise. kind of a buzz kill but it makes it so they can play while the babies are asleep.
3. Sophie was placed front row, middle for dance ensamble in choir. She's earning money so they can compete at disneyland. wahoo! She's also playing really, really well in her basketball games lately. go, screamers!
2. Simon, 5 months. Where does the time go? Still A-dorable and squirming and rolling and laughing all over the place. No teeth yet, but i can feel them coming!
1. We had some people over and watched the superbowl tonight. Some of those people were the missionaries. Apparently, all proselyting/teaching efforts are futile on superbowl sunday.
And i leave you with this. Just because it makes me happy.

Finn says "I want to go to Penny's house!"
ReplyDeleteThat was a supa cute video!
who-hoo! you're back! love the update, love you guys.
ReplyDeleteWait, How are you going to see a movie this Friday? Won't you be in UT with us? Or did your plans get scratched due to Doug's work?
ReplyDeleteI'll try to keep it from Charlie that Owen got drums. The kids has been dying for drum lessons since his birthday last year but they don't start around here until 7yrs old! Maybe we'll make a trip so owen can teach him some mad skills in the meantime.
ReplyDeleteAmber, that's exactly what happened. Can't even talk about it. Have fun and take a million pictures for me.
ReplyDeleteKelly, please come and share our drums!!
I am SOOOO jealous that you can be at an outdoor pool in February! That's okay, I need the extra months to shed preggo pounds before swimsuit season, but I'm still jealous.
