Over the past few weeks I've discovered that leaving Simon to sleep on my bed is NOT an option. This is what happens. Penny realizes that I'm not carrying him with me and b-lines it for my room where she climbs up on the bed and either grabs his face, pokes his eyes, smoooshes the binky really hard into his mouth or just gives him a good old fashioned whack on the head. I'm telling ya, we've had a rough few days. Most of these crimes against the baby don't actually happen because I'm pretty quick to thwart her evil plans.
However, today while I was talking to my friend Yvonne I got that feeling that Penny was up to something.
When i got back there she was laying on top of Simon coloring on his head with a marker.
I was very relieved to see that it was a color wonder marker, but still!!
So, If any of you mothers have some good advice for helping our little sis adjust, I'd love to hear it.

ReplyDeletethere was a gal in my moms ward who found her little boy trying to drag the newborn out of a baby swing by its head/neck. they had to call 911 because the baby was blue and on the ground and social services where on them like crazy. {yes i know, worse-case-scenario-jessica story}
penny is too young to know what would really harm him.
keep him out of her way and don't give her easy opportunity to work her magic. good luck!!
I say have me come over Tuesday after T is in school and Audrey and I can entertain Penny while you take a shower, nurse Simon, or whatever you need??? Sound good?
ReplyDeleteIt takes time. That's all I can say. Try to spend lots of alone time with Penny and allow her to begin a friendship with Simon, whatever level that's at right now. Gosh she's at a tough age right now. Hang in there mama hawk!
ReplyDeleteOh, I was thinking too.... do you have a pack n play??? You could lay him down in there and then she can't get to him. You can borrow ours if you want.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what to tell you. I'm still trying to keep Micah away from Tyson too. I find him sitting on him, putting his feet in his face(almost trying to kick him), the list goes on for me too. Whenever Micah is near Tyson I'm constantly watching them.
ReplyDeleteI know, i'm gonna have to be watching her like crazy. Today was better because i put his bouncy chair up on the table and just removed all the chairs so she couldn't climb up and bug him. Beth, the pack and play is a great idea.
