2 proms and a bunch of other stuff

Oh deary we have been busy.  Thought i should put these prom pics up before it gets too late and I forget to do it all together.. HERE GOES.

We started off with Senior Prom.  Her friend, Ben, asked her to go by taking her car during one of their practices and filling up the bed of the truck with water.  WHY EXACTLY?? No one knows, other than it was fun, maybe?  Anyway, he made a sign and was doing some other stuff to her car in the parking lot when sophie drove up with her friend, Evan, looking for him because he'd be gone so long! And i guess, ruined the surprise right there in the parking lot at school.  Oh, well.  The other funny thing was the sign looked like it said, Sophie Cabran. haha.

And then prom night came and they looked great.  Melanie didn't have a date and we were supposed to be all set up for photos at our house and it totally crashed and burned because Doug and i were crazy ALL DAY LONG! i was a sweaty pig for sure and we had to wait around for doug because he was finishing this really awesome bookshelf for the preschool fundraiser we were supposed to go to that night.  The theme:  Old Hollywood.  Their prom theme: Gatsby.  we were having similar fancy parties.  We ended up bidding on our teachers to come to our house and put penny and simon to bed for us.  Read stories, sing songs, whatever it takes.  YESSSSSS.

Anyway, they had a great time.

Then there was Mormon Prom.  Sophie was asked by a kid named Christian from another ward and i had never met him or his family, which is weird because i feel like i know just about everyone in Burbank, but he was so nice.  and nervous, which was adorable.  it was down at the natural history museum and sophie had SO MUCH FUN!   We literally didn't have a dress on Friday morning (dance was friday night) so i spent the whole morning scouring this town for a modest (hahaha) dress. this one was perfect and we had the dry cleaners around the corner do an emergency hem and i seriously can't believe we pulled it all together.

Had a little Bday party for Rachel with the girls from our ward.  FUN!

This little boy is crazy for Penny and tells her he wants to marry her all the time.  I think he's wearing her down.  She asked if they could have a play date.  Someday, penny. Someday.

Anniversary!  We celebrated 19 years this year and it was such a busy week.  Last minute we took off and went out to SugarFish.  the best sushi joint around.  no joke, it blows kuru kuru, Kobusa, and that other one that Rachel and Brandon love but we hate. can't remember that name either. Do any of you think i have pre-alzheimers?

I've now officially been with Doug longer than i was ever without him.

This old dude was just sewing away at the laundromat.  penny had accidents one night in jut about every bed in the house.  did massive loads at their laundromat.

Penny was home with a fever.  She gets UTI's a lllllll the time and it's so sad.  So we went to 99 cent store and stocked up on new markers and drawing paper.  I swear i will never shop anywhere else for markers. we took 6 dollars in and came out with 2 sets of markers, 2 big drawing pads and 2 coloring books.  SWEET!!! Everyone is set.
