I had to record this story.

Three days ago, i was driving Sophie and a new member named Max up the hill to seminary.  I was trying to talk to Max but couldn't say much because i still had my retainer that i'd been wearing in all night. So pulled it out and put it in the pocket of my hoodie, kept driving and talking like what i had just done wasn't super gross.

That night i went to put my retainer back in and couldn't find it anywhere! i was so stressed out about loosing it because i had just replaced it 2 months ago and it costs like 300 bucks and i'm about to go on this road trip with Owen and Simon up to the reunion and the last thing i want to spend 300 on at this exact moment is a stupid retainer. so i thought back to where it was this morning and remembered the pocket.  Then I realized that i had taken off the black hoodie and let owen wear it to school (totally forgetting about the retainer in the pocket) because it was chilly that morning.  It's black and a little big on him but he's the last person to care about that so he threw on the hoodie and jumped in Ethan's car for school.

HOLY CRAP!!  Who knows if the hoodie made it home let alone a tiny piece of super light weight plastic.  the next morning i went into his room and LUCKILY saw that it jacket made it home. (this is owen we're talking about, after all.)  picked up the jacket, felt in one pocket... not there. felt inside the other pocket and BINGO it was there.  it had survived a day at middle school and made it safely back home.  it's a freaking miracle, that's what it is.  I am so, so grateful!!
