Warning: Longest post ever

Well hello there,

Blogging is tough in the summer.  Many hands and eyes on all electronic devices.  Wanna email photos to post?  Gotta tackle and wrangle my phone from simons sticky little fingers.

Wanna blog penny's latest shenanigans or Owen's 10th Birthday extravaganza??  well,  i need to boot the boys off first or kibosh Sophie's Facebook adventures.

These two sentences alone have taken me like 15 minutes to write.  So many interruptions!

ANYWAY, wanted to post some pics.  They are pretty epic.

For the most part we have been doing much of the same.

Sophie started a summer class.  world history.  Since we decided to do choir again next year, we had lighten her school load from 7 classes to 6.  Choir is intense but grades have to be the focus obviously.  sounds like her teacher is kind of a moron and sophie is sort dying everyday but we're trying to keep her eye on the ball.  easy A.  Crap, easy A+!

That's a nice way to start your sophomore year.

Otherwise, lots of playdates, lots of driving. penny and simon are done with school on Thursday, HOORAY.

This was also our weekend of parties for grown ups.  Behold, the 80's party. Sophie helped me put the outfit together (most of it from her closet) and then I went to my hair girl and she did me up RIGHT!!!

I have never had such amazing hair in my entire life.  It was seriously legit.

I love this photo.  Doesn't matter what I'm wearing... mama duties never stop.
Penny was really sad and didn't want us to go.
Sophie right after the above photo trying to make her happy

This is SO my sister Chris in the 80's, only her hair was natural. This was 2 stylists curling tight, tight little curls all over my head for an hour

Doug is KILLING me in this picture!!!!  hahahaha

I took this seriously horrible picture and then my phone died.  This is le franc's little bro Davy. it was his surprise party and it was a genuine surprise. i think he cried a little.

The wide shot of the above.  way less grainy.  p.s. His girlfriend is on Community if anyone watches that.
We love that show. She's the one with the blow up guitar.
On her deck at the MONKEE house.  Peter Tork of the Monkee's owned the house at one time and there is a plaque near the front door like a historical site.  so rad!

OK so we got home really late from the party. The fridge was open, there was dry quinoa spilled all over the ground and it looked like it had been a rough night for sophie.  we were out of diapers, penny cried a lot and simon didn't go to sleep until almost midnight.  So we cleaned up the kitchen and then fell asleep on the couch because all of the kids ( minus penny) were sleeping in our bed.   At 3 am i woke up to penny crying because she wet the bed. so i cleaned her up, took off the sheets and went to sleep with her in simons double bed.  by morning she had peed in that one, too.  simon, who was wearing a pull up leaked all over my bed and then just as we were getting ready for church stood peed on the floor in the hallway.  i took the useless pull up off and about 3 minutes later, owen stepped in the soggy diaper and almost threw up at how disgusting it was and had to give himself a 10 minute foot bath to clean it all off.

We ran off to church, came home and then headed out to a CRAB FEED?!? at Doug's friend Ben's house.  I have never met him but he was the lead on the Virgin job doug just finished so they are quite intimate by now.

What an experience.  He is from Maryland so every year he has a party and overnights the freshest maryland crabs to LA and everyone stands around long tables piled with crabs, pulling them apart, cracking shells and sucking out the leg meat from the giant legs. They dumped Old Bay seasoning straight on the tables and you just dipped your meat in the pile.

It was the most interesting experience.  We took Penny so she could play with her friend, marghi, but left everyone else home and that worked out just great.

Anyone watch MadMen? Ben is the new copywriter.  Haven't seen this weeks yet but last weeks episode was AWESOME.
After that crazy lunch, we came home, cleaned up the house, fed the missionaries and the ran up to the church for New Beginnings. Sophie passed off KNOWLEDGE. It was a wonderful night. We have the BEST young women's leaders. So very grateful to them.

Sophie and her twinner bestie, Melissa

Tonight is the premiere of the Virgin Airlines project and then our grown up fest is over.
My babies need their mama back.

Happy Monday!

My very good friend Margot (there are pics of her on my blog - we went to the cruise ship together to see Adriana, etc.), is his VERY good friend. Like besties I think. Anyway. I am pretty sure he knows my Adriana too. Small world. I've def been watching him on Mad Men.
