Family History Week - Day 1

Yes, yes I made it back last night. so wonderful to be gone.  just so so wonderful.

i was going to say how nice it is to be back but i'm not sure i actually believe that yet.

here are the highlights via my instagram.

Friday:

A quick run to TJ Maxx for tights ended with some very happy michael kors summer wedges in my bag. Do you ever buy first and then think about it and return if it doesn't work out, just in case you decide you want them and go back and they aren't there anymore?  genius advice from my sister, Jami, actually.  so i bought them, considered for a few days and decided to keep them.  They were double what I want to pay at TJ Maxx, hence all the consideration.

Grandma, Jami, Kelly and I ran errands with grandma and then the three of us ended up at the movies. Salmon Fishing in the Yemen.  So sweet.  Perfect movie for our day.  Baby Violet came with us and was just a little peach, cooing at the big faces on the screen and then sleeping and eating.  so darling!

Baby Violet, Kelly and Jami at the theater

Then we had some of Grandma's famous hamburger soup. (like chicken soup but with ground beef and tomatoes. SO YUM

A visit from my sweet cousin who battled and won an extreme stage of brain cancer. it has altered him forever but he is here and has a huge testimony that he loves to share.  it was so nice to see him. And his giant hamburger.  (total theme going on here)

Saturday:

Slept in until 7:45, went shopping for baby gift and then hit the baby shower in a gorgeous part of Salt Lake City.

Haven't seen my sister, Chris, or her daughter, Kyle, in 4 years and it was like we all just fit back together like a big family puzzle.  It felt like we had just seen her last week.

Then we went shopping and ate chick-fil-a at the new City Creek Shopping Center in downtown salt lake, right across from the temple.  It was cold and drizzling but it was so fun.

Sunday:

Slept in until 10AM! my mom came down to see if i was still breathing.

My grandma brought out her old photo albums and we had such a fun time cackling at all the old pictures.

I took photos of the photos and want to have them in my blog book for my kids and grandkids so i have deemed this week, Family History week here on the Chamberlain Family Blog.

Some of these are just too good to pass up.

Grandpa Buck and me.  He's 91 and still going strong!

The ladies of the house. Why i look like i have dentures is beyond me.

Baby Violet is Grandpa's 104th descendant!! That's a lot

  4. A) I don't know who drugged me in the pic of Grandpa and the girls, but I'm glad I was front and center to flaunt it. B) I love these last few posts, more than words can say. I kind of want to paste and copy so it gets in my blog book as well. Seriously awesome.
    c) I really do wish that weekend wasn't over already. So good to be there with the ladies.
    D) and finally. You + high school = the BOMB. Don't act all modest. You were the cats pajamas!
