whirlwind

I thought the weekend was going to be really busy and then i got a phone call from a friend who is shooting a movie in boston.  She and her husband booked the same job and Grandma got into town Thursday to watch the kids for 2 weeks.  On Friday, Grandma had to be admitted to the hospital for an infection in her thumb that would have led to amputation if she waited 2 weeks to be treated.  Anyway, that left her 3 kids without anywhere to go, so this weekend we had 7 (!) kids and everyone going in different directions.  my mom and dad came in at the exact same time on Friday night, like, they all pulled up to our house at exactly 8pm.  It was crazy!  But, boy, was i glad they were there!! We had 2 air mattresses in the family room with tons of pillows and blankets and sleeping bags.  We watched movies, they played in every room of this house ate tons of chip bags typically saved for lunches. we had parties this weekend including 2 bday parties for penny (i would have skipped considering the circumstances but i'm getting a bit of a bad reputation with this crowd so i committed to go.) Then the ward party at 6. My dad made the casserole that i signed up to bring while i was at sophie's performance with grandma. Doug then took all 6 kids little to the Christmas party while i went to a seperate girls only 'favorite things' party. (which was beyond awesome! will have to post pics) Then Doug went to a late movie and we all got up for church and then last night met the 'encino' families down at the temple to see the lights. all 10 of us.  (we took sophie's friend Melissa with us as well.)

Turns out the weekend wasn't busy.  It was really, REALLY busy. hahaha.  but it was all good. The best kind of busy.

Now im back from dropping off penny and looking at a house totally torn apart. wow.  i have a bit more to do today.

Pics in no good order, actually.
