We have a busy weekend ahead with 3 of Owens friends coming over this afternoon and one of them staying the night. Unfortunately for sophie the one staying the night has a little crush on her and likes to follow her around and say, 'Hey, soph. How was your day? How was school?" etc, etc. hahaha. Can't wait to see what this kind of stuff will be like when the babies are this age? All of penny's cute friends coming over and simon and his friends wanting to hang out with them? oh, that will be fun.
Yesterday, owen made my day. He was asking what i would do if he were in another family and i said i would probaby say, wow, that boy is such a nice kid and so cute too! i wish he was in our family.
Then i asked him the same thing, what if he were in another family and he said he would probably say that that mom looks like a pretty good mom, then he broke and said, "mom, no offense...(haha, you know nothing good comes after that statement) but he said, No offense but you look really young, like a babysitter."
OWEN IS OFFICIALLY MY FAVORITE CHILD TODAY! The others are really going to have to try hard to beat that one. Like quit dumping things (a costco sized bag of baby carrots) out on my floor.
Anyway, before i go prep the house for the impending crazy this afternoon, i just had to share something. Just renewed my license and for whatever reason nobody ever takes my old ones from me. Do you all have your old ones? Check it out.

my not look like a babysitter but california has definitely helped me have better hair.
What a hilarious way to see a progression of time. Driver's License Photos. So send them in people, we can start a new series. haha.
Really, though, it just makes me happy to be in one place for such a long time. California is home and i love it. We have a picture of our little family of three taken the summer we moved here in 2001 down on a pier in malibu. I really want to go recreate it with our family now in 2011.
Time marches on whether we want it to or not.
Although, let's hope this isn't the next step in the progression.

have a great weekend, everybody!

Haha. Love these photos! Perfect. YAY for Owen. My kids just keep talking about how fat my stomach is (9 months prego). So there ya go!
ReplyDeletethat last pic is one scary lady (or dude)
ReplyDeleteYou look great in that last photo, I loved the pink striped shirt.......and I've never seen you in metallic pink lipstick, it works on you!
ReplyDeletep.s. My last drivers license picture I had just had Elliot. I was puffy and had lion hair. Also, I can safely say none of my kids would tell me I looked like a babysitter.
I love your blog. You are so funny, but having young kids can do that to a mother.
