It's All About Location

Doug and Le Franc used our house as the location for some super 8 art project this weekend. And it was insane. it started out as possibly shooting in the kitchen and they ended up using just about every square inch of this place. Including our awesome black bathroom in the back for le franc to shave and brush his teeth before having and make-up done in the eames lounger next to our bed. His agent and producer were hanging out on our bed. The whole thing was so funny/surreal/and a little nervewracking, I'm not gonna to lie. I stayed up until 1:30 the night before cleaning floor to ceiling and i am SOOO glad i did. Everyone was looking in drawers and cabinets for stuff to move or areas to shoot. Rooms were dismantled and reassembled, a make shift living room was set up in our bedroom with the idea of moving our bed to (something of a precarious suggestion considering the amount of stuff that has taken up residence under there.) Doug quickly shot that down and came up with another solution.

Owen got to act in it as the cousin of the main girl. I don't have him in wardrobe, but they wrangled Doug into playing a councelor and thankfully, I did get him in wardrobe. it is SOO awesome. He hates that crap, but it was great. We took shelter at a friends house for most of the day catching a little bit of General Conference. Looking forward to watching the rest, as i heard there were some really good talks. I was gone most of the day so i didn't get a ton of pics and most of them are blurry! i was trying to be all non-chalant. hahaha, whatever.

The big mess

Playroom as wardrobe/production office

Owen was chatting with Le Franc any moment he got about two books that I bought for him last year. Tricky Pics and Tricky Video.(The funniest part being that these books are so old school. pre digital cameras even. the tricky pics came with a plastic 35mm camera attached!)

Anyway, at one point Owen was in the bathroom flipping throught the pages with him talking about aweome video ideas. At the end of the night as he was leaving Owen ran out with both the books and asked him if he wanted to have one of them. Instead, le franc proposed that each of them would pick their favorite idea and they would do them together. Very cute. I'm sure it'll never happen but it was nice of him to indulge the O-dog.
And then Sophie's friends were DYING that Le Franc was at our house. So after Stake Choir practice about 9 girls showed up to drop her off and peek into the house. they were ouside looking in through the windows saying, "i can see his face!" They tried to wait out the scene but the driver of all the girls had to get moving with the drop offs so they didn't come in. We should have just interrupted the dang scene. That would have been so funny and the girls would have loved it!

p.s. sophie told me this photo isn't even facebook worthy because its so blurry. that's what you get for trying to be a non-fan, i guess.

  1. Hopefully next time you have a camera crew in your house you'll have the presence of mind to hang your guitar family photo on the wall before they get there.

  3. That is AWESOME!!! Love all the pictures. He is such a good-lookin' guy. And tell Sophie, if I were her, I would put that pic up on Facebook in a heartbeat! I would tattoo it on my arm. Ha! No, don't tell her that part.
