Owen's Baptism

I'm starting here. many things to blog.

it was a wonderful, glorious day.
owen was excited, cheerful, and enthusiastic about getting baptized.

seriously, i remember being nervous, but he was like, "Hey, today is my baptism, I'm sooooo excited!"

so many wonderful friends came, made it so special.

sophie gave a talk on baptism, my dad on the holy ghost. he was not feeling great and barely made it through. they both were amazing.

owen didn't like the white baptism suit. sophie told him he looked like a giant marshmallow that got squished by a car. how helpful.

she also sang a duet with 3 of the Udall sisters.

funny thing... when we showed up the program had a picture of two young girls in white dresses walking through a field of grass. what? girls??? {we played that part waaaaaay down to Owen}

Apparently, our primary pres. had a very busy week and that is what she ended up using. hmmm. not even a missionary or somthing? oh well.

We all went back to our house for a BBQ with a menu of Owen's choosing. Hot Dogs, Watermelon, soda (a costco pack of Root beer, Hawaiian Punch and Orange Crush) chips and mini cupcakes. doesn't that sound amazing? ha ha.

actually, it was a really, really fun party. there were probably 50+ people hanging out in our backyard. 20 kids jumping on the trampoline at a time. big kids, little kids, friends, and grandparents eating, laughing, lounging on blankets, music playing....

i seriously felt like this was my version of heaven. for reals. it was such a happy moment.

Us at the party. This pic happens to be the best visual description of our family i've seen in a long time.

Note: Penny's right hand.

And, no, i have NO idea why i went inside, changed my skirt and then chose the dumpiest, rumpled up shorts/outfit i could find for a full body photo. awesome, at least i look happy?

{props to wes for the pics. both of our cameras were on loan and he saved the day. many more of them to come.}
