The Haps

  • Sophie had her Spring Concert for Choir and it was off the hook. so fun to watch her sing and dance. It's surprising how coordinated middle school girls are and how UNcoordinated the middle school boys are. Alo, she tried out for and got into madrigals, which is the fun and more competitive 8th grade choir. her 7th grade choir went to disneyland a few weeks ago and won 1st place superior. she's super excited for next year. it's jordan middle school's version of GLEE...sa-weet! (minus the rampant teenage promiscuity, i hope)
  • Owen recovered from his sore waist and spent the weekend with baylen. they built scooter ramps in baylen's backyard and rode all day long. his dad told me that Owen claimed he likes the scooter ramps more than video games. whoa, that's saying something. We're also looking down the calendar to his baptism! can't believe it. June 12!
  • Penny's school fundraiser was on saturday. it was a 'Wine and Wigs' theme so i sported a short brunette cropped wig. It totally made me wanna go back to brown. i won't, but it made me want to real bad. everyone was drunk by the time i got there which was obnoxious and hilarious all at the same time. They had a candy bar set up as centerpieces to each table. i came home with like 4 bags of candy. not sure why i was so nuts about scoring so much candy. i let everyone have a little and then chucked it. so weird. i was like one of those kids at the beginning of the old charlie and the chocolate factory. unstoppable!
  • And Simon. he's so darn awesome. he's so darn busy now and mobile and fast. his personality is starting to remind me of sophie. They're both early risers and on the go. He lets go for a few seconds while he's 'cruising' around the house like he's testing out 'standing' After the bath, penny and simon like to play. it's really the only time they interact without her ending up hurting him. but they play in the hallway and she comes after him and makes him laugh and laugh and they giggle together. i'm seeing a small bright spot somewhere in the future.
  • And look what we found on craistlist for free!
  • We've been so close to buying a stupid monster bball hoop from sports authority for years actually and could never justify $600, 700 or more for it. FREE is a lovely, lovely number.

  1. I want a photo of the wig!!! I almost forgot you were a brunette. You looked great then, even though you will always be a blonde to me.

  2. How fun! Free IS a lovely number! Way to go Sophie, I remember Brooke doing madrigals and loving it. I think she did it all the way through high school or something. Yes, scooter ramps are the bomb, and atta girl Penny way to play nice.

  3. I think we ransacked the candy at the fundraiser because it was FREE. Something about free makes me want all of it and then I get home and think, why did I take all this?

And for the record, you did look awesome in the wig!
