Penny: still sleepy + hungry makes = crazy and a little demanding and a little bit more aggressive.
Simon was happy but instantly hungry as soon as he opened his eyes.
Owen starving and not allowed to eat any of the snacks I brought along in the waiting room
Sophie was just nervous and kept asking if i could go back into the room with her.
I told owen to bring along something to do. As we were heading out the door i saw him with a book and thought he'd be fine. when we got into the office, apparently, he left the book in the car and brought along his 'medieval times' wooden battle axe and thought swinging it around in the office was going to pass the time.
I thought we were doomed when in the first 5 minutes! sophie was filling out her own paperwork (including my signature) while i nursed simon, who was starving, and penny kept screaming for the pen because she wanted to use it to draw on everything and then she'd pull out all the magazines, scribble on a few pages and throw them on the floor. Then, owen kept asking if he could tell me about totoro the movie and dropping the axe on the floor making really loud clashing noises that startled simon who would then cry out instead of quietly eat. it was intense. Not one of those discreet, I've got a handle on things kind of moment. i was sweating it.
But then everyone calmed down. simon sat very happily in his carseat once he was full and i could manage Penny. I left owen in the waiting room playing games on my phone so i could take the littles back with us into the room and talk to the dentist.
And Sophie did great! Our old pediatric dentist did not have the velvet touch when it came to shots and this lady was much, much better which made sophie extremely happy. Had it gone south we would have had to buy a couple of plane tickets to get her up to Grandma Chamberlain and Dr. Bekkar, that's for sure!
Speaking of Grandma Chamberlain...she's coming to visit next week. yay!! we're so excited.
And a quick shout out to Aunt Loraine!! Our conversation got cut off the other day just when we were getting to the good stuff. we'll chat soon, i promise!
And finally, i'll leave you with some eye candy from a site i just adore. making it lovely
I really want this office and the giant picture of her baby. except i want it to have my baby in it, not hers.
Master Owen:
Little Miss Penny:

that room would fit in your house perfectly.
ReplyDeleteah man, i feel your pain. happy birthday to doug
Emily, I love hearing other mom's horror stories. Does that make me sound horrible? It just makes me feel more normal knowing that it happens to all of us. Although, I'm still sorry it happened to you!
ReplyDeleteAnd by the way, you have a card coming in the mail to you, but it won't even do justice to the card/gifts you gave me. Wow. Thank you doesn't even say it enough. I was overwhelmed and so grateful!
