outta synch...

do you ever find yourself out of synch with your kids? Example. Doug and I were sitting at the kitchen table and Sophie came in and asked if her outfit looked FINE.

I said "YES!"

Doug said, "NO"

Sophie looked at me with the strangest look... apparently she said, "does this outfit look FUNNY."

that same thing happened not 10 minutes later as we were actually leaving the house and sophie asked about her outfit again, and again I answered wrong.

Maybe it's my hearing?!?!

With Owen, we've been talking a lot about the reasons why he's not allowed to play certain video games. Because they're VIOLENT. that's why. And, of course, that only makes him more obsessed with violence.

The other day he asked, "Mom, the Book of Mormon is super violent, why are we allowed to read that."

And then tonight he told me at school they were writing and drawing pictures of what they were thankful for. He said that he was thankful for the REVOLUTIONARY WAR.

"Why are you thankful for the Revolutionary War?"

"Because I don't to be English, mom. I want to live in America!" He was kind of laughing as he said it like he couldn't believe i even had to ask.

Apparently, the picture was of 2 guys with blood coming out of their necks and one with a head chopped off.

hmmm. I'm starting to get worried. also, he said the opposite of bum is b-u-t-t. he spelled it out for me. ha ha.

In other news, i can't wait to see NEW MOON on Saturday. My hair appointment was the longest i've been without kids in about 5 years. Or, so it seems.

In more other news, I decided to eat the rest of the indian food i made tonight instead of keep it because i didn't have the right size container. not sure that was the best decision i've ever made.
